Farm Services Memorabilia on Display at the Huntley Area Public Library

Farming was a huge industry in the Huntley area in the past. Providing feed for cattle and seeds and fertilizer for crops were necessary businesses.

Enos Conley and Sons was one of the largest providers in the area in the early 1900s. Situated along the railroad tracks south of Main Street, the company later also provided lumber and coal.

Once the Conleys retired from business, other farm service businesses took over the location and continued servicing farmers until the end of the 20th century.

Having stood for nearly 100 years, the farm store was torn down in 2005.

To learn more about this necessary business of the past, and to see old business ledgers and photographs, visit the display at the Huntley Area Public Library. Memorabilia from Enos Conley and Sons and McHenry Farm Service are on exhibit.
